Beninese and French, Laeïla Adjovi is an artist-researcher based in Dakar, Senegal. Her academic and artistic explorations involve writing, photography, drawing, cartography and sound creation. Her process has its roots in documenting and collecting archives, images and testimonies. Since late 2018, she has been working on Les Chemins de Yemoja, a transdisciplinary project deployed between Nigeria, Benin and Cuba around the transmission and transformation of African spiritualities.
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁 𝗱'𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 : Salimata Diop French-Senegalese curator, art critic and composer, Salimata grew up in Saint-Louis and Dakar, Senegal. Her multicultural heritage and passion for culture, history and the arts led her to specialize in curating contemporary art. With collector Amadou Diaw, she created the Musée de la Photographie de Saint-Louis du Sénégal, which she directed from 2017 to 2018, before continuing her work to disseminate and document the work of contemporary artists from Senegal, Africa and the diaspora through exhibitions, publications and round tables. In 2024, she will embark on a new adventure, overseeing the 2024 edition of the [Dakar Biennale](https://www.jeuneafrique.com/.../biennale-de-dakar-2024.../).
