She embarks on a quest and takes a potion that plunges her into a state of near unconsciousness, and finds herself at the portal to the beyond. There she meets Kuma, the gatekeeper. She wants to understand what happens in this intermediate place and what happens after the crossing. With the hoped-for answers, she plans to return to the living and free her world from the pain and fear of death.
