"My creations reflect my generation, struggling between a historical discourse and a reality anchored in the socio-political present. I am an artist committed to the development of my country and its culture; it is through my works that I express my sorrows, my pains, my hates, my worries as well as my hopes. My tools and working materials are manufactured objects and recycled materials. The aim is to make us meditate on the instability of the world". Redji is the first Haitian artist to take up a residency in La Rochelle, working on a project for a permanent statue in the public space in memory of the abolition of the slave trade.
