Omar Youssef Souleimane

Omar Souleimane comes to work on his next novel "L'arabe qui sourit". In 2022, Salim, a Syrian refugee in France, learns that his best friend Naji has died in Beirut. In Beirut, he discovers that his friend is in contact with jihadists and that this city is no longer the city of freedom of expression, that his refugee friends from the Syrian revolution have changed. In France as in Lebanon, Salim is still considered a foreigner because of his origins. Paradoxically, this situation makes him freer, lighter, smiling in the face of his absurd life.
